Children in a changing climate

children in a changing climate - research

ccc-research is dedicated to collaborative action-research into child-led adaptation with the purpose of helping to legitimise children's voice on climate change at all scales and in all arenas.

It is providing the evidence base that enables practitioners, policy-makers, and children themselves to take action to adapt to and mitigate climate change.

While ccc-research recognises the importance of understanding and reducing the impacts of climate change on children, the research focuses on children's ability and agency to influence climate change debates.

Assisting children in adapting to climate change requires deepening awareness of what children know about climate change and its impacts and how they communicate their knowledge and influence others.

ccc-research brings together specialists in child-centred development to investigate six key themes which can help further understanding of the way children and young people do and could engage in preventing and adapting to climate change.
