Children in a changing climate

As part of the Development and Climate Days at COP-14 in Poznan, Poland, Children in a Changing Climate would like to invite you to a session on:

 

Children in a Changing Climate: The role children can play

Saturday 6th December 2008, 11-12.30

Sheraton Hotel, Poznan

 

This session will address the role and value of children's participation in climate change adaptation and mitigation

Panelists:

  • David Parker, Deputy Director of UNICEF's Innocenti Research Centre

  • Johan Schaar, Director of the International Commission on Climate Change and Development

  • Dr Amanda Katili, National Board of Climate Change, Indonesia (TBC)

  • Nurul Susantonno, child winner of the Indonesian Gadis competition on climate change

The speakers will be interspersed with clips from films from around the world showcasing children taking action on climate change, from child-led disaster risk reduction programmes in El Salvador to children making participatory videos on the impacts of climate change on their communities in Nepal.
