CCC Side Event at COP15:
Child-centred climate change adaptation: Applying lessons from child-led disaster risk reduction
9.00am, Tuesday December 15, 2009, Rm Victor Borge, Bella Centre, Copenhagen
Session Chair: Margareta Wahlstrom, Assistant Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction
The world's children are already playing an important role in reducing disaster risk and ensuring effective climate adaptation. It is their future. Children around the world are actively engaged in adapting to climate change and reducing the risk of disasters caused by a changing climate.
We have seen the important role that children can play in projecting themselves and their communities.
Please join the Children in a Changing Climate coalition as we draw on lessons from out work with children and their communities, strengthening their resilience to climate change.
Organisers: IDS, Plan, UNICEF, Save the Children
