The Children in a Changing Climate (CCC) coalition is very pleased that the theme of this year's International Day for Disaster Reduction is children and young people as partners of DRR. The CCC agencies have been working closely with UNISDR to promote child-centred DRR and there will be events taking place in many countries around the world on the day. International Day for Disaster Reduction is 13th October 2011.
The International Day for Disaster Reduction provides a good opportunity to promote the five priorities in the Children's Charter Children's Charter for DRR, which were identified through consultations with children.
